Select Netherlands from the list of servers, hit the “Hide Me” button, and your real IP will be hidden away and replaced with an IP from the Netherlands. When you visit a website, it will not see your real IP address; it will see the new IP address provided by HideMe, IP address that fools the website into thinking you’re from the Netherlands. That is, in a nutshell, the functionality you can expect from the HideMe VPN application.

You can use HideMe on your desktop PC and you can use HideMe on your smartphone. HideMe is available for Windows-powered PCs and OS X-powered Macs. It is also available for iOS and Android-powered mobile devices. At the time of writing this, HideMe is compatible with Windows 7 and newer, OS X 10.7 and newer, iOS 7 and newer, Android 4.0 and newer.

HideMe allows you to connect to VPN servers located in 11 regions: US, UK, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Netherlands, and Singapore. All supported regions are presented as a list down at the bottom of HideMe’s interface.

Using HideMe is an incredibly simple matter. Pick a location from the list I've just mentioned – Netherlands for example – and then hit the “Hide Me” button. After you perform these two simple tasks, your browsing will be directed through HideMe servers in the Netherlands. All your traffic will be encrypted and your real IP will be replaced with one from the Netherlands.

HideMe is free to use for 7 days. The upper panel on HideMe’s interface very clearly presents this fact.

Surf the web on an encrypted connection. Surf the web with your real IP hidden away. Surf the web protected by HideMe.

Pros

HideMe is available for Windows, OS X, iOS, and Android. HideMe allows you to connect to VPN servers located in 11 regions around the world. It is incredibly simple to use HideMe: select a location and hit “Hide Me”. HideMe uses strong bank-grade encryption.

Cons

Trial limitations: free to use for 7 days.
